CLARITY: A Simi Valley Waste Management garbage truck dumped a load of burning trash in front of an elementary school.
Several tons of trash in the back of a trash truck caught fire. The truck operator dumped everything into the road so firefighters could put it out. This happened next to Garden Grove Elementary, on Tracy Ave.
Acorn News was on the scene to capture these photos of the cleanup.
Several residents commented on the “quick thinking” if the garbage truck operator. If the load had not been dumped so quickly, the entire truck may have caught on fire.
There appeared to be no significant property damage and no one was injured during the ordeal.
Waste Management immediately sent a crew and truck to clean up the mess.
