(CLAIR) – Congratulations! The Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise has selected 21 deserving recipients for this year’s share of $16,000 in scholarships. These are amazing students who have done everything right – academically, financially and in service to their community. All that is left for these students to do, is to share where they hope to continue their journey towards success.
A Simi Sunrise representative said, “It doesn’t matter if its college or career advancement. The community is excited to see how these bright individuals go forward, no matter what path is chosen.”
The list of this year’s 2022 scholarship recipients are:
- Liam Albin of Apollo High School
- Grace Williams of Grace Brethren
- Susan Belik and Anna Katharina Sorensen of Monte Vista
- Sarah Aliolli, Paula Crossland, and Stephen Tamacheepjaroen of Royal High
- Sumaiya Akbar, Dylan Coty, Nicholas Kim and Sarina Lin of Santa Susana High
- Diya Agrahar, Patrick Ban, Victoria Bures, Layla Carriera, Sameera Gurram, Joshua Kort, Marissa Moreno, Rhea Patel, Sydney Pham, and Srivarsha Rayasam all from Simi Valley High
Candidates were selected based on their demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, community service, and school service.
The recipients, along with their family members, were invited to a Zoom meeting at a recent Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise breakfast. During the meeting students had the opportunity to share their ambitions for their future along with where they will be pursuing their next level of education.
The Simi Sunrise Rotary Club raises money for the scholarships as well as other local and international charities through various fundraising events. This is just one example of the many ways that the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise gives back to the community.
Other fundraisers include the annual Happy Face Music Festival, Simi Valley Oktoberfest, golf tournaments, auctions, and a bowling event focused on ending polio. Through the hard work of its members, the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise is able to make a difference in the lives of many people in the community.
