(CLAIR) – Healthy, fresh, clean and delicious! That is the best way to describe the new Cafe Noor Mediterranean eatery on Tapo Canyon Road, across from Regal Cinema.
Simi’s newest fast-casual style restaurant celebrated their Grand Opening on Friday, September 16. On hand for the ribbon cutting was The City Mayor’s Office and the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Fast casual restaurants, such as Chipotle, Panda Express and Subway, prepare their dishes with an ‘open kitchen’ concept. Food preparation takes place with complete transparency. Literally, the first thing you notice inside Cafe Noor are the large windows, bright lights and fresh air. Customers can easily see the kitchen, fryers, and everything else that goes into making their meal.
Vahe Mardigian, the restaurant owner, explains, “We want the customer to see how clean and fresh everything is. We even use different fryers for the different types of foods.”
“We never cook meat in our vegetable fryers, and we never cook vegetables in our potato fryers,” he said.
By keeping the prep areas for meat and veggies separate, people needing vegan meals can feel confident that their dietary requirements will be met.
Mardigian also said, his restaurant tries to accommodate people with certain food restrictions. A close family member is affected by a severe peanut allergy. Mardigian is especially sensitive to this issue and wants everyone to feel welcomed in his restaurant.
The menu includes a variety of popular Mediterranean proteins including falafel, beef and chicken. The protein is placed into a pita, or served on a plate along with your favorite sides and sauces.
Over the next several months, Mardigian plans to extend their patio space to provide customers with a comfortable and relaxing area to enjoy beer, wine and hookah.
A quick inspection of the reviews on Yelp reveal a 5-Star rating for Cafe Noor, with one negative comment.
Heather W writes, “I had to ask for more sauce. Other than that, it was very good.”
Cafe Noor is centrally located, walking distance from Simi Valley City Hall. Parking is plentiful – and for those coming from a nearby town, the restaurant is right off the freeway and easy to get to.
