(CLAIR) – Perhaps you’re not alone in recent criticism of Red’s BBQ. An ownership change doesn’t always run as smoothly as one would hope.
Thankfully however, a major management correction is now underway – and things seem to be improving.
Simi’s boldest barbecue aficionados took to social media recently to complain about their beloved Red’s Barbecue & Grillery.
One post read, “For almost a year, the restaurant has been in steady decline.”
“Ever since Justin and Kyle purchased the restaurant from their father earlier this year, the complaints about quality and service have been non stop,” read another.
Many long-time customers have simply stopped ordering from Reds, choosing BBQ options in Moorpark and other areas instead.
One customer commented, “The last few visits have been lack luster, and things taste different than they used to.”
A separate post notes, “We are normally big fans, but this last year has been a fail. That said, we support local whenever we can so we will give them another shot for sure.”
Thankfully, the new owners, Justin and Kyle, have listened to the negative feedback. Several Reds fans that have been contacted by the new management team say, “The restaurant has been very apologetic.”
One BBQ boss from Thousand Oaks said, the owners reached out and sent him a $25 gift certificate.
Another said, she got a gift certificate for $25 off her next $100 order.
“As steadfast professionals, dedicated to their customers, Justin and Kyle seem to have heeded the criticism and are working to make urgently needed improvements,” read another post.
The following comment seemed to sum up the growing online consensus, “ Having sampled their renewed effort, I am so happy to report RED’S IS BACK! The food was fabulous! We tried all our usual favorites and not only was everything like it used to be back in the day, IT WAS ACTUALLY BETTER THAN EVER! The tri-tip was to die for. The chicken, juicy and perfectly cooked. The baby back ribs, fantastic. The fries, finally crispy. And no mistakes in our order.”
While some may have given up on Red’s, perhaps it’s time to give them another try. They appear to be putting things back on track.
