(CLAIR) – The Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise was excited to welcome members back to their first meeting of the new 2023 year. Despite the rainy weather, everyone was in good spirits as they came together to start the new year off right. President Laura gave an inspiring and motivating Rotary elevator speech, and even though there were no guests in attendance, John Baxter made a valiant effort to welcome them anyway.
Larry Borovay set a positive and spiritual tone for the meeting with his invocation, and Herschel Berger had everyone feeling patriotic as he led the group in saluting the flag. Savi Bhim and Arun Sharma were the friendly faces that greeted members as they arrived, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.
While the club had to announce the loss of two friends of the club – Ken Anderson, an honorary member, and Greg Seaton, Leigh Seaton’s brother – they also had some good news to share. Tim Shannon was recognized as a Royal Rotarian this week, and the club is sending well wishes to John Bagnall as he undergoes surgery and begins his recovery.
Despite any challenges, the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise remains a close-knit and supportive community. They are looking forward to a wonderful year ahead.
