(CLAIR) – The Simi Valley VFW Military History Museum hosted their annual Valentine’s fundraiser on Saturday, February 11th. The event was emceed by Lori Mills, the host of Uncover California heard on the 790KABC Radio and the KABC podcast network.
The event was held to raise funds for the museum and to showcase its impressive collection of military posters and memorabilia.
The VFW Military History Museum is open to the public and welcomes Veterans and Active Military from all branches of the Armed Services. The main purpose of the Museum is educational; reaching out to youth and adults alike and enriching both groups on the importance of our military history.
The museum is staffed by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about preserving the memory of our nation’s military history.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10049 hosts an impressive display at the museum. There are hundreds of military posters and historical artifacts on display.These items have been graciously provided by local Veterans and collectors. Each piece helps to tell the story of America’s military history and serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our brave men and women in the Armed Forces.
Several Vietnam Veterans volunteer their time to give tours to the visiting public. Their stories are an important part of the museum’s educational mission and provide visitors with a firsthand account of the realities of military service.
In a post to Twitter, Mills said she had a great time being the MC at the annual fundraiser event. Her enthusiasm and energy were contagious and helped to make the event a great success. The fundraiser was a reminder of the important role that the museum plays in educating the local public about the sacrifices made by our nation’s military. It also highlighted the incredible work of the volunteers who keep the museum running and ensure that the stories of our nation’s military history are never forgotten.
