(CLAIR) – The Simi Valley High School Unified Sports Club is a shining example of what can be accomplished when students come together for a common cause. Their commitment to helping Unified Sports Athletes has brought the group closer together. They are making a positive impact in our community.
Student representatives from SVHS Unified Sports Club recently attended the Ventura County Unified Sports Leadership Conference at Cal Lutheran University.
They gave a presentation about their club, highlighting some of the the unique aspects of the Simi campus. They talked about their Peer Buddies, dedicated individuals, involved with teaching the skills of sport and committed to the social interaction with the special needs students. They also shared the importance of providing opportunities for Unified Sports Athletes to participate in competitive sports, something that they may not have had before.
The Simi High students were able to network and connect with other like-minded individuals who are passionate about Unified Sports. They shared stories, exchanged ideas and talked about the challenges they faced as Unified Sports Athletes.
The students participated in team-building activities that were both fun and educational. They were able to collaborate with other local Unified Sports programs and learn from their experiences.
The event was a great success, and the Simi Valley High students left feeling inspired and motivated. The students are excited about the future of their club and the opportunities that lay ahead. They know that their club is making a difference in the lives of Unified Sports Athletes, and that their efforts are appreciated by the Simi community.
