(CLAIR) – Simi Valley art enthusiasts, mark your calendars! A unique and vibrant Pop Up Art Exhibit, “Nature at Your Doorstep,” is coming to Simi Valley Town Center. This exciting event, hosted by the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center in partnership with the City of Simi Valley and Simi Valley Town Center, will feature the talented artists of Kindling Studios, a working art studio for adults with disabilities.
From May 2 through June 8, 2023, Space #240 at Simi Valley Town Center will transform into a lively art gallery and working studio. A special Gallery Opening Reception will take place on May 12, 2023, from 5 PM to 7 PM, giving visitors the chance to meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments. Admission to the Artist Studio, Exhibit, and Gallery Opening Reception is free and open to the public.
Kindling Studios, based in Camarillo, California, is home to a thriving community of adult artists with disabilities. Since its inception in 2015, the studio has nurtured the artistic talents of its members and provided them with opportunities to learn, create, and sell their artwork. The 13 featured artists at Nature at Your Doorstep boast a diverse range of styles and mediums, from drawing and painting to sculpting with hand-made clay.
The Pop Up Exhibit not only offers a platform for these artists to showcase their work but also allows visitors to watch them in action. Throughout the six-week residency, half of the space will be dedicated to displaying and selling their creations, while the other half will serve as a working studio. Visitors are welcome to interact with the artists and even attend art lessons hosted by them.
