Simi Valley Flips Over Pancake Breakfast at the Huck Finn Fishin’ Derby!
(CLAIR) – Prepare your appetites, Simi Valley! This Saturday, April 27, 2024, the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise is whisking up a massive pancake breakfast for the community. From 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Rancho Simi Community Park, 1765 Royal Avenue, the scent of buttery pancakes will waft through the air, drawing families to gather for a happy-good-morning unlike any other.
Set against the backdrop of the annual Huck Finn Fishin’ Derby, this isn’t just another breakfast. It’s a fuel feast for our young anglers as they prepare to reel in their catches from the park’s two-and-a-half acre lagoon, freshly stocked with over 1,500 pounds of fish. It’s an all-you-can-eat affair that promises to be the perfect complement to a morning filled with fishing and fun.
The pancake breakfast serves not only as a tasty start to the day but also as a community gathering to cheer on the participants—kids 15 and younger—braving the early morning chill to catch the biggest fish. It’s always a fun time: Families laughing and joking over stacks of pancakes, kids with syrup-sticky fingers, and community leaders working to keep volunteers focused and on task.
Whether you’re there to fish or just to feast, make sure to arrive early. The best spots by the water—and the breakfast line!—fill up quickly. Rain or shine, the event is a go, proving that a little weather won’t dampen the spirits of Simi Valley’s most enthusiastic pancake and fishing fans.
This delightful event encapsulates what our community is all about—family, fun, and flipping pancakes. So, grab your fishing rods and bring your appetites to Rancho Simi Community Park this Saturday. With bellies full and lines cast, it’s sure to be a day to remember!
