Simi Valley Town Center to Host “Illumi – A Dazzling World of Lights“
(CLAIR) – If city event planners get their way this fall, residents of Simi Valley and surrounding areas are set to experience a spectacular light show as the Simi Valley Town Center becomes the venue for ‘Illumi – A Dazzling World of Lights.’ This latest production from the creators of Cavalia Odysseo, renowned for drawing large audiences throughout Ventura County, is expected to transform the local skyline with an unprecedented LED display, marking a landmark community event.
Although details about the program in Simi Valley still remain under wraps, if the event takes place as described, the light-up area is expected to span the equivalent of up to ten football fields, and will feature over 20 million LED bulbs and 20,000 light sculptures. The exhibition will transform the parking lot near the shuttered Macy’s East building into a radiant fantasy land that will captivate and mesmerize attendees from Simi Valley and beyond.
Artistic director and founder Normand Latourelle emphasizes the local focus of the event, stating that visitors from across Ventura County do not need to travel to Las Vegas to enjoy a spectacular show. ‘We bring the wonder right to your doorstep,’ he remarks. With a history of attracting large audiences with previous shows like the theatrical equestrian adventure Odysseo in Camarillo, ‘Illumi’ is set to continue this tradition by providing a unique, family-friendly experience designed to engage and entertain.
Previous ‘Illumi’ exhibitions have featured up to 14 magical worlds, each uniquely themed with elements ranging from icy landscapes filled with digital fauna to vibrant jungles illuminated by neon lights. The exhibit not only features static light displays but also includes high-definition projections and state-of-the-art animatronics that bring mythical creatures to life.
In addition to its visual splendor, ‘Illumi’ will offer a rich auditory experience, with each themed world featuring its own soundtrack to enhance the immersive atmosphere. Designed to be a social media destination for LA and Ventura Counties, the event provides endless opportunities for visitors to capture and share their experiences. Seasonal variations, including special installations for Halloween and the Christmas season, ensure that ‘Illumi’ offers new delights with each visit.
As the nights grow longer, ‘Illumi’ will light up Simi Valley, guiding visitors through a maze of breathtaking scenes. This event is described as a magical journey through starlit paths right in the heart of of the city, where the ordinary will intermingle with the magical.
Further details are forthcoming, and the anticipation is high for what is sure to be a memorable series of evenings in our quiet little town. Let the lights illuminate the night, Simi Valley! Stay tuned.
This sounds really cool and I hope it comes to fruition…
PLUS – if there’s enough space for “ten football fields” to make this happen, it speaks well to the space being available for a Ventura County TopGolf to come to the Simi Town Center as well, to help rejuvenate the Center as the crown jewel of Simi Valley, and Ventura County as a whole…
Hope the City leaders are reading this and open to our suggestions…
Indoor Pickleball + Outdoor TopGolf = MONEYMAKING TOWN CENTER and tax revenues out the wazoo….
