Simi Valley Rotarians Partner with Operation Warm to Provide New Shoes to Local Students
(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) – This week, the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise partnered with Operation Warm in a collaborative effort to distribute new shoes to students of Santa Susana Elementary School. Organized by local community member Stephanie, this initiative receives enthusiastic support from the community, brightening the smiles of scores of young students in need.
Operation Warm, a national nonprofit that gives high-quality coats and shoes to children in need, believes these donations are more than just clothing. “Our mission extends beyond the physical warmth of a coat or shoes,” says a spokesperson for Operation Warm. “We aim to provide emotional warmth, confidence for children to socialize and succeed.”
The need for such programs is clear. Research shows that 67% of children wear shoes that do not fit properly, which can negatively affect their health and development.
The Rotary Club’s involvement highlights the organization’s commitment to community service. “Thanks to Stephanie for inviting us to participate in such a valuable project,” said William Klepper, a Rotary Club member. “Initiatives like this strengthen community ties and make a real difference in the lives of our young residents.”
The event was a success, with families leaving with new shoes and smiles. It was a day that promised significant returns in community well-being, embodying Operation Warm’s motto: “More than a coat.”
