Will there be a Happy Face at this year’s 4th of July fireworks show?
(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) – As we get ready for the biggest celebration of the year in Simi Valley, one question has everyone smiling: will this year’s fireworks display finally feature the happy face firework or not?
This 4th of July, the Simi Valley Kiwanis Club is hosting a day packed with excitement and activities that would make anyone’s heart sparkle. From a beer and wine garden to food trucks, craft vendors, music, kids areas, and so much more. Sure, there’s a little something for everyone. However let’s be real, as soon as the sun dips and darkness falls, we’ll all be craning our necks skyward for the fireworks show. That’s what we’ve come to see.
This year’s firework spectacular is brought to us by none other than Pyro Spectaculars by Souza. These guys are the rockstars of the fireworks world. James Souza, the mastermind behind the family-owned business, has been wowing crowds with his pyrotechnic prowess for years. With over 400 Independence Day shows nationwide, including the legendary Macy’s 4th of July show in New York City, you know we’re in for a treat.
According to Souza, “The happy face firework is the smiley emoji of the sky – it bursts into a colorful flower and then transforms into a smiling face.” It’s a hit everywhere it goes, but for some reason, it’s been missing in action here in Simi Valley.
This is especially puzzling since Simi Valley is home to Happy Face Hill, our very own grinning landmark. Why hasn’t our city, with its iconic happy face, included the matching firework in our celebrations? Other places without such a cheerful symbol have enjoyed the happy face firework in their skies.
As indicated by the photo above, James Souza and his crew at Pyro Spectaculars have a happy face firework all set and ready to go, yet they’ve never been asked to bring it to Simi Valley. This has left some residents scratching their heads. Just imagine the excitement and the “oohs” and “aahs” from the crowd if that smiley face suddenly appeared overhead.
So, will there be a happy face firework at Simi Valley’s 2024 4th of July celebration? We’ll have to wait and see. For now, as we count down to the big day, keep your eyes on the sky, and get ready for the show. This July 4th, grab your friends and family, pack a picnic, and come on down to the festivities. Whether or not the happy face firework makes its debut, we’re in for a blast. It should be fun day.
But seriously, can someone please give the Simi Valley Kiwanis Club a call? Don’t you think this would be fun?
I think Happy Face fireworks would be a DEFINITE here in Simi Valley since we have the Hsppy Face hill and just recently celebrated its festival!! BRING IT!!❤️
