(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) — Spring break in Simi Valley is getting a festive twist. Families can head to Strathearn Historical Park next week for a free photo op with the Easter Bunny, set against the scenic backdrop of the park’s historic buildings and lush gardens. From March 24 to 28, between 1 and 3 p.m., kids can pose for pictures while parents capture memories in one of the city’s most charming outdoor settings.
While kids smile for the camera, they’re also taking part in a tradition that dates back centuries. The Easter Bunny’s origins can be traced to German folklore, where the Osterhase, a mythical hare, was said to deliver eggs to well-behaved children. Over time, the tradition spread to America, evolving into the beloved Easter Bunny we know today.
But this event isn’t just about history—it’s about creating special moments for families. With sunny skies in the forecast, the park’s lush gardens, historic buildings, and charming atmosphere provide the perfect setting for a memorable outing. Parents can snap adorable photos of their children with the Bunny, then explore the six-acre park, home to some of Simi Valley’s oldest preserved landmarks.
Located at 137 Strathearn Place, Strathearn Historical Park and Museum features the Simi Adobe–Strathearn House, the original Simi Library, Saint Rose of Lima Church, and more. Visitors can wander the grounds, take in the history, and enjoy a family-friendly adventure.
This free event is a chance for families to capture the joy of spring, learn a little local history, and enjoy quality time together—all with a touch of Easter magic. Just bring your camera and your biggest smiles!
