(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) — This Saturday, May 17, you and your family are invited to a one-of-a-kind community fair in Thousand Oaks that blends fun, support and celebration in an atmosphere that’s welcoming to everyone.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Conejo Creek North Park, the Conejo Valley Disability Fair will bring together more than 40 local organizations offering resources and services for individuals with disabilities and their families. Whether you’re looking for information, connections or just a meaningful day out, this event offers something for every member of the family.
The fair is hosted by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin, in partnership with the Thousand Oaks Police Charitable Foundation and the Conejo Recreation & Park District. It’s open to all Ventura County residents—families from Simi Valley, Moorpark, Camarillo, Oxnard and every neighborhood in between are encouraged to attend.
And yes, it’s all completely free.
You’ll find a live DJ spinning tunes to get the crowd moving, Special Olympics-style games for kids and adults, a bounce house, and creative art activities led by Art Trek. One of the highlights for families is the Touch-a-Truck zone, where you can get up close with a real helicopter, a city transit bus, police and fire vehicles and more.
No need to pack a lunch—there will be complimentary hot dogs and chips served by the Lions Club, plus a dessert bar hosted by the Thousand Oaks Kiwanis. It’s a full day of fun, food and discovery designed to be accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of age or ability.
While the fair is filled with energy and play, it also serves a deeper purpose. For many individuals and families navigating life with disabilities, finding the right services or support can be challenging. This event brings those resources directly into the community, in a setting that feels more like a festival than a formal event. It’s about connection, not complication.
There will be a designated drop-off area at the park, and if the main parking lot fills up, additional parking is available across the street at the soccer fields.
If you have questions or want more details, you can call Assemblymember Irwin’s District Office at (805) 370-0542.
So come out, explore, laugh, dance, learn and enjoy. You’re not just invited—you’re wanted there.
