Simi Valley Education Foundation opens Teacher of the Month submissions for 2025–2026
(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) — A great teacher can change everything. They are more than instructors — they are mentors, motivators and the spark that can ignite a lifetime of learning. Whether it’s the second-grade teacher who made math fun or the high school science teacher who encouraged curiosity, every child remembers that one educator who made a lasting difference.
The Simi Valley Education Foundation is inviting the community to recognize those exceptional teachers through its Teacher of the Month program for the 2025–2026 school year. Each month from September through June, one educator in the Simi Valley Unified School District will be honored for their outstanding work in and beyond the classroom.
Nominees should demonstrate dedication to students, provide exceptional instruction, participate in school or district initiatives and bring creativity and leadership to their role. The foundation encourages the public to think about the educators who have made a meaningful impact not only on individual students but on the classroom as a whole.
Research from the U.S. Department of Education shows that effective teachers are the most important in-school factor for student achievement. A single great teacher can help shape academic success and inspire the confidence and resilience that lasts a lifetime.
The foundation said the program, supported by local businesses, sends a clear message: Simi Valley values its teachers.
To submit a nomination, visit svef.org by the deadline on Monday, July 1, 2025.
