(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) — Freedom, fireworks and fellowship come together under the summer sky at Simi Valley’s Star-Spangled Rock ‘N Country Jam and Fireworks Celebration on Friday, July 4. The Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley invites the entire community to Rancho Santa Susana Community Park for an all-American bash that’s free to attend and rich in patriotism.
Independence Day is more than a date on the calendar—it’s a reminder of the birth of a nation founded on ideals of liberty and self-determination. The tradition of July 4th celebrations dates back to 1777, when Philadelphia marked the first anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with bonfires, bells and fireworks. Nearly 250 years later, those sparkling skies still bring people together, but in Simi Valley, there’s a little extra magic.
Here, locals and visitors alike are treated to hours of live music from The Jimi Nelson Band, Ignition and Justin Honsinger, whose blend of country and rock will keep the crowd dancing into the evening. Families can enjoy the free kids’ Fun Zone, browse local craft vendors and sip cold drinks from Sassy’s Star-Spangled Saloon and the beer and wine garden. It’s the kind of celebration that feels both small-town warm and big-time festive.
For those who want a premium experience, VIP tickets offer indoor air-conditioned dining with a BBQ dinner and dessert from 4 to 6:30 p.m., shaded stage seating, reserved fireworks viewing, indoor restrooms and two adult beverages for guests 21 and older. Tickets are $100 for adults and $45 for children under 12.
But this patriotic party also comes with purpose. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations for the Great American Food Drive, which supports families facing hunger right here in Simi Valley. Donations will be accepted from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Rancho Simi Community Center or the event’s Information Booth. “All donated items stay right here in Simi Valley to support those in need,” said Donna Smith, president of the Kiwanis Club. “Celebrate with us—and help make a difference.”
