Bowling fundraiser supports Simi Valley students
(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) — A community bowling fundraiser later this month will bring Simi Valley residents together for a night at the lanes in support of local public schools.
Bowling has long been tied to friendly competition and shared experiences. It asks just enough focus to keep players engaged without turning the night overly competitive, a balance that has helped the game remain popular across generations.
That balance will be on display Sat.,, Jan. 24, when the Simi Valley Education Foundation hosts a community bowling fundraiser at Harley’s Simi Bowl. Check-in begins at 6 p.m., followed by two hours of bowling. Lanes are available for $125 for up to five people, or $35 per individual, with shoe rental included. Raffle prizes will be offered throughout the evening, and trophies will recognize top teams and individual bowlers.

Bowling brings people together across ages and groups. It’s the same reason so many parents have hosted birthday parties at bowling alleys, and why many kids remember celebrating there at least once. Families, coworkers and groups of friends can all share the lanes, making bowling a natural fit for a community fundraiser.
The game itself has deep roots. Early forms of bowling date back thousands of years to ancient Egypt, while modern ten-pin bowling emerged in the United States during the 19th century. As cities expanded, bowling alleys became neighborhood gathering places, a role local centers like Harley’s continue to fill today.
During the upcoming fundraiser for Simi schools, a portion of proceeds from Rock N Roll Pizza Bar inside the venue will also benefit the foundation. All funds raised support programs and resources serving students and classrooms throughout the district.
Registration details are available at SVEF.org.
