Simi’s Summer Starts with a Splash: “Rock the Boat” Brings Yacht Rock and Big Talent to Civic Center Stage
(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) — The summer kicks off with smooth tunes and serious talent as Rock the Boat opens the 2025 “Concerts at the Plaza” series this Saturday, July 12. The free show starts at 6:00 PM at the Civic Center Plaza Food Court near Tapo Canyon Road and the 118 Freeway.

This isn’t your average cover band. Rock the Boat was founded by former Disney cast members and features six seasoned musicians who’ve played thousands of shows around the world. The lineup includes four lead singers and a stage packed with guitars, drums, and synths — all delivering the lush harmonies and polished sound that defines yacht rock.
Expect hits from Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, The Eagles, and more. These aren’t just imitations — the band faithfully recreates the original sounds of the records. They’ve worked with top producers, toured with hit artists, and performed in major tribute, including tributes to Heart, Boston, Led Zeppelin, and Joe Cocker.
“They bring serious skill, tight vocals, and a love for performance,” said Neil Felder, owner of East Coast Pizza Company and lead organizer of the concert series. “They’re the perfect band to kick off the summer.”
Fans are encouraged to join the fun by wearing their best nautical gear. Think captains’ hats, stripes, or anything you’d wear on deck. The vibe is laid-back, the music is high-quality, and the event is totally free.
