Starship rides and Beatles songs highlight the holiday weekend at Town Center
(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) — Labor Day in Simi Valley marks more than a holiday. The city, home to many working families, knows the value of work, rest and community.

This year, residents can hop to the Simi Valley Town Center mall for the return of the Simi Fall Days Carnival. The event runs from Friday, August 29 through Monday, September 1. Hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, and 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday through Monday. The carnival includes rides, games, shopping and entertainment for all ages. Attractions range from kiddie rides to the Super Shot Drop Tower, Cliffhanger, Tea Cups, and the Starship.
One longtime resident shared on Facebook: “I want to ride the Starship again. That ride was childhood for me. Who wants to join?” The post captured the weekend’s spirit—nostalgia, family and connection.
On Saturday, August 30 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Town Center hosts the End of Summer Concert inside the carnival zone. The Beatles tribute band Ticket to Ride will perform, offering a soundtrack for families and neighbors to share together.
The Town Center itself is turning the page to a new chapter. In May, the City Council approved plans for apartments at the site under new ownership, with the idea that housing may breathe life back into a mall that has struggled. Developers hope to combine new residences with shopping and entertainment, giving the center a second chance to serve the community (Clair.ID).
Labor Day here isn’t about parades or pageantry. It’s about pride in steady work, and the chance to pause. Families gather, rides turn, music plays and the holiday speaks in simple ways—work recognized, rest respected and community renewed.
The Town Center is still here. It’s a place built to serve the city and its families. This weekend offers a chance to go, give it a try and support the businesses that call it home. For full event details, visit the Town Center events page.
