(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) — Paddles, laughter and good vibes will fill the courts at Sinaloa Middle School in Simi Valley on Saturday, December 6, when players from Ventura, Los Angeles and Orange counties meet for the inaugural Simi Valley Education Foundation Pickleball Tournament—presented by Top Tier Pickleball and organized by Michelle Adams and Nancy Cheek.

The one-day tournament features men’s and women’s doubles across 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0+ divisions, using a round-robin format that keeps players on court for multiple matches. Registration is $65 per player and includes complimentary lunch from a taco truck, along with snacks and water.
As a non-DUPR event, match results won’t impact players’ national ratings, keeping the focus on friendly competition. Players will be placed in divisions based on their DUPR rating when available; those without a rating can self-rate, and Top Tier Pickleball will ensure proper placement.
Top finishers will receive 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals, and all participants will be eligible for prize drawings. The tournament is capped at 120 players, so early registration is encouraged to secure a spot. Registration is open now at https://qrcodes.pro/8cf1dT.

Proceeds benefit the Simi Valley Education Foundation, which funds teacher grants, student scholarships and classroom technology across the Simi Valley Unified School District. The event combines competitive play with a shared commitment to community support, creating a day that’s both active and meaningful.
Pickleball’s fast pace and community feel have drawn players of all levels to the sport, from beginners to experienced competitors. “If you want great, competitive fun, this is the sport to play,” said Michelle Adams.
Vendors on-site will include Santa Barbara Pickleball Shop and Vision for Enrichment Sports Massage Therapy. For updates, follow @top_tier_pickleball on Instagram or find Top Tier Pickleball on Facebook.
Simi Valley’s pickleball community continues to grow, with 12 dedicated courts at Sinaloa Middle School—available for weekend and summer play—and additional public courts at Lemon Park and Rancho Simi Community Park. The sport’s accessibility, quick pace and social nature have made it a favorite across generations, turning local parks into gathering places for everyone from first-time players to seasoned competitors.

For those new to the game, beginner classes are offered through the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District—an easy entry point into one of the country’s fastest-growing sports.
