With holiday celebrations ahead, here’s a full look at the stores, studios and local groups still active at the Town Center
(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) — Winter weather may have nudged the calendar, but the holiday spirit at the Simi Valley Town Center isn’t going anywhere. The center’s 21st Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration — originally planned for this weekend — has been rescheduled to Saturday, Nov. 22, with the full lineup returning from 4 to 9 p.m.
The annual tradition transforms Center Court into a festive winter scene, complete with falling snow, costumed characters and an evening of live performances. Five-time Grammy nominee Bridget Brady will headline the night, joined by local talent from Simi Valley Town Center Dance Studios, the Moorpark Jazz Band, Inspire Dance Studio, Ballet Folklorico, Gotta Dance Academy and Born to Perform Studios.

Santa will make his entrance to read ’Twas the Night Before Christmas, while elves, toy soldiers, Snow Princesses and a walking snowman roam the plaza. Kids can pick up a free candy cane (while supplies last) and reserve a photo session with Santa. The event will also stream live at twitch.tv/simitowncenter for those who want to watch from home.
A few days earlier, Color Café will host a Friendsgiving gathering on Monday, Nov. 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. The evening offers a chance to paint pottery, sip a festive mocktail and get into the fall mood. Entry is $17 plus the cost of the pottery you choose to paint, with supplies and glazing included.
The holiday events are a chance for residents to rediscover the Town Center and all it has to offer, from shopping to dining, services and local activities. It’s home to a mix of national retailers, independent businesses and community organizations — some well-known, others offering more unexpected and locally rooted experiences.

In February 2025, the owners of Simi Valley Town Center, SteelWave and Steerpoint Capital, submitted a preliminary plan to the city proposing up to 375 residential units on the property, including areas like the former Macy’s site and sections of existing parking lots. The proposal includes retaining some retail to support a mixed-use environment. While plans move through the review process, the Town Center remains open for business.
For those who say they’d like to see more local businesses and activities in Simi, showing up for the ones already here can help make that possible. The future of the Town Center is still taking shape — but for now, it’s a place to gather, support neighbors and take part in what’s happening.
