(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) — Blending historical highlights with a tribute to American pop culture, An American Christmas returns to the Reagan Library with 26 beautifully decorated trees that trace the nation’s story from the 1770s to today. Each tree captures a decade of American life, inviting visitors to slow down, look closely and notice something new every time they walk through.

“As the United States approaches its 250th birthday next year, this exhibit celebrates the eras that have defined U.S. history and culture and made this country what it is today,” said Melissa Giller, spokesperson for the Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute. “This exhibit is a wonderful opportunity for families to gather and reflect on our nation’s remarkable journey, a story President Reagan deeply cherished.”
The displays move from the country’s founding ideals to modern culture. The 1700s include copies of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights. Later decades highlight inventions, major events and cultural touchstones including breakthrough flights, early telephones, classic games, music and movies that shaped each era.

A 1970s display features an eight-track tape and a nod to Jaws. The 1980s section recognizes President Reagan’s time in office alongside icons of that decade including Cabbage Patch dolls, the Rubik’s Cube and early personal computers. A newly added display reflects key moments of the 2020s. Hand-crafted Menorahs given to President Reagan while he was in office add another layer of history and tradition.
