(CLAIR | Simi Valley, CA) — One year ago, Born to Perform Studio opened a theatre with a bet: that Simi Valley wanted another place to perform, and that the right venue could prove it. The bet paid off. Twelve months later, the space is packed with performers, booked with productions, and celebrating its anniversary with a pop-rock murder mystery that nobody saw coming.
To mark the milestone, the studio opens its Mainstage production of We Are the Tigers โ a pop-rock murder mystery that pulls no punches.
A Show Built for the Moment
We Are the Tigers opens with what looks like a cheerleading squad sleepover. It ends with one girl dead on the front lawn and everyone else a suspect. The show blends sharp comedy, big vocal performances, and genuine suspense into something hard to categorize and harder to forget.
The show was hailed Off-Broadway as โa rule-breaking treatโ (Stage Scene LA). The New York Times praised its tantalizing mix of cheerleaders, jump scares, and songs, while OnStage called it โfresh and originalโฆ infectious.โ
Now, that same bold energy hits the Born to Perform stage in a production that promises suspense, spirit, and show-stopping performances.

The show runs March 13 through March 22 at The Studio Theatre, located at 1555 Simi Town Center Way, Suite 525. It is designed for mature audiences due to its dark, comedic, and violent content. Tickets are on sale now at app.gostudiopro.com.
A Theatre That Serves the Community
Born to Perform Studio built its theatre to do one thing well: remove barriers. The space operates as an affordable, accessible venue for artists and organizations across Ventura County. Over the past year, it has partnered with local nonprofits, schools, and theatre companies โ offering rehearsal space and a professional stage where their work can reach a real audience.
The studio’s goal has been consistent from the start. Support local creatives. Maintain a professional performance environment. Bring audiences into the Simi Valley Town Center.
In one year, the theatre has grown into something more than a rental space. It functions as a gathering point for performers, storytellers, and residents who believe the arts belong in their city.
What Comes Next
We Are the Tigers is the anniversary production, but it also signals what the studio is building toward. Each show brings new audiences to the Town Center. Each partnership extends the reach of local arts into schools and nonprofits that might not otherwise have a home stage.
Born to Perform Studio opened with a vision and spent a year proving it works. The next chapter starts March 13.
