CLARITY: Oktoberfest – Every year Simi Valley puts on an epic Oktoberfest where you can drink all the beer you want. Why is this so interesting? Because the event location is Lemon Park, right next door to the police station.
Should festival attendees have too much to drink, they will have several options for rides leaving the event including Uber, a sober friend or a shiny new patrol car.
Our observation during the October 9th event however, the party was relatively tame. We did not witness any disruptions or arrests.
Although the event is advertised as 21 and over, it felt very family-friendly. Lots of moms, dads and grandparents singing, dancing and having great time shouting Prost!, Wies’n! and Dirndl & Lederhosen!
