Have you ever thought about writing down your life’s most meaningful moments — but weren’t sure where to start?
Now you can.
In the Legacy Story Writing Class at the Simi Valley Senior Center, you’ll work in a small group, using a custom-trained AI writing assistant (similar to ChatGPT) to organize and create your personal life story book — no writing experience needed.

Minimal computer experience is required. A Gmail account is helpful but not necessary.

Not at all. This class is designed for everyone—whether you’ve written before or not. We use guided questions and simple AI tools to help shape your memories into meaningful stories.
I’m not very tech-savvy. Will I be able to keep up?
Yes! We keep the technology easy to use and always offer help along the way. If you can use email or browse the internet, you’ll be just fine—and we’ll walk you through everything else.
What if my life isn’t that interesting?
Every life has value. The stories you think are “ordinary” are often the ones that touch others the most. This class helps uncover the meaning in your memories.
Do I have to share everything I write?
Nope. You decide what to share and what to keep private. You’re always in control of your story.
What if I start but don’t finish?
This class is designed to go one small story at a time. You don’t need to finish a whole book—just take the next step, and the rest comes naturally.

Location: Simi Valley Senior Center Computer Lab
Schedule: Wednesdays at 10:30 AM (6 consecutive weeks)
Attendance: Must attend all six sessions
Technology: Computers provided if needed; AI tool included
